FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about 22ct Gold, a popular choice for jewellery and investment purposes.

WHAT IS 22CT GOLD?

22ct gold jewellery contains 22 parts of gold and 2 parts of other metals, such as copper or silver, giving it a gold purity of 91.67%. This higher gold content compared to lower carat gold alloys (such as 14ct) makes 22ct gold more valuable and desirable. The addition of other metals in the alloy, particularly copper and silver, enhances its durability and makes it more suitable for jewellery wear.

CAN YOU WEAR 22CT GOLD EVERY DAY?

22ct gold jewellery are suitable for daily wear however, everyday activities like cleaning, exercising, or even accidental knocks can cause damage to delicate 22ct gold jewellery so we recommend taking your jewellery off when taking part in these activities.

HOW TO CARE FOR 22CT GOLD?

Gold is a soft metal that can easily break. When cared for properly, your gold jewellery will last a lifetime. Here are a few tips on how to take care for your 22ct gold jewellery:

  • Take off your rings when you are doing housework, gardening, heavy work and sports. Precious metals are soft and may distort if squeezed or twisted. The chemicals and abrasives we come into contact with can be powerful abrasives, acids and alkalines which could take the polish off your jewellery and mark the metal and stones.

  • Take off your jewellery before you go to sleep, necklaces and chains could get twisted and kinked as you move around in the night.

  • To ensure that your jewellery remains as beautiful as it was the day you got it, store it in a safe place when not in use.

I SAW A PRODUCT I LIKED BUT IT IS NO LONGER ON YOUR WEBSITE....

We try our best to restock items which have been sold out however, we can't promise to restock the same piece or the same weight of the piece sold. This is because 22ct gold jewellery are manufactured with very few identical pieces.

HOW TO IDENTIFY REAL 22CT GOLD?

Real 22ct gold jewellery is typically marked with a hallmark or a stamp that indicates its gold purity. The specific marking or stamp may vary depending on the country or region, but some common markings for 22ct gold jewellery includes:

        1) "22ct" , "22kt" or "22k" : The most straightforward and commonly used marking for 22ct gold jewellery is the caratage itself. Look for a stamp that reads the following on the jewellery piece.

        2) Numeric Stamp: In some regions, you may come across a numeric stamp indicating the purity of the gold. For 22ct gold, you may see the number "916" stamped on the jewellery. This represents that the gold alloy contains 916 parts of pure gold out of 1000, equivalent to 91.6% gold content.

        3) Assay Office Hallmarks: In the UK, gold jewellery undergoes hallmarking by an assay office to verify its purity. The hallmark may include specific symbols or letters indicating the purity such as "916" for 22ct gold.
