What materials are Carat Goldsmith jewellery pieces made of?

All of our jewellery is made with 22ct gold. 22ct gold jewellery contains 22 parts of gold and 2 parts of other metals, such as copper or silver, giving it a gold purity of 91.67%. This higher gold content compared to lower carat gold alloys (such as 14ct) makes 22ct gold more valuable and desirable. The addition of other metals in the alloy, particularly copper and silver, enhances its durability and makes it more suitable for jewellery wear. 

Is your name necklaces made by you?

Yes, our signature name necklaces are made in-house, providing us the ability to tailor them to your exact specifications in terms of weight and design.

Do you size rings to fit?

Yes, we provide complimentary ring resizing with your purchase at no additional cost. This service is available before the ring is dispatched to you. Once the ring has been dispatched, resizing will incur a fee.

Adjustments will be made prior to dispatch which ensures there will be no delay in delivery, unless it conflicts with our resizing policy.

Occasionally, the design of a ring, such as eternity rings, can make resizing more complex. We advise contacting us before requesting a resize to verify if the item can indeed be resized. This process is essential to preventing customer dissatisfaction if they specify a size adjustment that cannot be accommodated when the order is confirmed.

Is your jewellery gold plated?

All products are made using 916 22ct gold, giving you the most luxurious look and quality.

Can you wear 22ct Gold everyday?

22ct gold jewellery is ideal for daily wear, however, be mindful of tasks like cleaning, exercising, or accidental knocks, as they can harm delicate pieces. We recommend removing your jewellery when engaging in these activities.

Do you have a shop?

We are an exclusively online trader and do not have a physical shop front.

I saw a product I liked but it's no longer on your website...

We aim to restock items that have sold out, although we cannot commit to restocking the exact same piece or weight. Should an item be unavailable for restocking after selling out, we take it down from the website to prevent any confusion.

Can I see a video of the item being worn and request additional pictures?

We are always happy to provide you with more images and video footage of the item being worn to help you to get to know the piece before you buy. Simple reach out to our team here and we will reach out to you with any additional details you require.

I really like your products but haven't purchased gold online before. How do I know if your jewellery are 22ct gold?

Purchasing gold jewellery online can be intimidating, however, our hallmarked jewelry ensures authenticity, genuineness, and compliance with legal purity standards. In some cases, you may find only a 916 hallmark on the jewelry due to its complex design and delicate composition. However, rest assured, the authenticity of the gold remains unquestionable. 

Do you offer discounts or promotions?

Discounts or promotions may be presented occasionally. They will be showcased on our social media channels; Instagram and Tiktok for future reference. Our website prices are typically static and not open to negotiation.

How do I take care of my jewellery?

Do prices change of your jewellery?

Our jewellery prices fluctuate with the constantly changing price of gold. We strive to offer accessible prices while maintaining high quality. By tying our prices to the current market value of gold, we ensure transparency and fairness in pricing.

Why didn't I get an order / shipping confirmation?

There are a few reasons why this might happen:

  • There may have been a typo in the email address you entered. (typos- we all make them!!).
  • The email may have been routed to your spam / junk / promotion folder.
    o     Check these folders. You can also search for our email address caratgoldsmith@outlook.com and hopefully it will show up in the results. 
    o     Mark our email as 'Not Spam' in your email service
  • Some orders get stopped before being confirmed, this could happen because of special characters in inscription, special requests made by you, an error with the shipping address, or other such matters.

If you are still unable to locate your confirmation email please contact our team and we will be sure to resend it to you.

Where is my order?

We know that you’re really anxious to receive your order and that you just can't wait for it. We can't wait for you to get it either! Rest assured that we’re striving to process your order efficiently for prompt next day delivery.

If your order hasn't been received to you the following day after the order was placed, the delay might be:

  • You ordered it after 3pm on Thursday. As our office is closed on Friday and the weekend, orders placed after this time will be dispatched the next working day.
  • Your order was made during a promotion or public holiday, impacting the delivery timeframe.
How long will it take to receive my order?

Our fixed Next Day Delivery service ensures timely dispatch of our jewellery (excluding customized pieces) the same day or next day. Orders placed within the 3pm timeframe are dispatched promptly, while those placed after 3pm will be sent the following day.

Our office is closed on Friday and the weekend, therefore orders placed after 3pm on Thursday will be dispatched the following working day. During promotional or public holidays, shipping and production time may be extended. Please refer to our delivery page for information on any possible delays.

Can I change my order details after it's been placed?

If your order hasn’t been dispatched yet, we are sometimes able to amend personal details, such as your shipping address. Please note that orders subsequently returned to us due an insufficient postage address will have to have postage repaid  for to reship the order. If you have placed your order and wish to change your delivery address please contact us at here with your order number. 

Are the shipments insured?

Yes, we fully insure your shipment, which means you can have a stress-free shopping experience. However, in the event of a return, you will be responsible for insuring the item.

Can I make changes to my order once it has been placed, including custom-made orders?

Unfortunately, once the order is placed our team initiates preparation for dispatch, and modifications are not feasible. To include an additional item, a separate purchase is required.

For made to order items, it's essential to understand that cancellations or changes cannot be accommodated due to the nature of the product.

How can I track my order?

Upon dispatch of your order, a tracking number will be provided to trace your item's location. Our reliable courier service offers tracked & signed delivery with insurance to your doorstep.

Do you ship Internationally?

Unfortunately we only provide shipping within the United Kingdom.

Why is my credit card declined?

In most cases, a declined payment is due to insufficient funds, an expired card or security limitations set by your credit card issuer. We recommend contacting your credit card issuer or bank for further assistance.

Returns

Do you accept returns?

Carat Goldsmith promises to refund any item(s) you are not completely happy with, provided they are returned to us within 7 days of purchase, and are in a re-saleable condition.
