UK Next Day Insured Delivery

Fast & Insured to your door. When it comes to purchasing gold jewellery online, Carat Goldsmith understands that buyers want their orders as quickly and as safely as possible. With this in mind, we use Royal Mail "Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day" service on all orders.

Now let’s take a look at the fine print to keep you totally informed:

To ensure timely delivery for our Next Day Delivery service, orders must be placed by 3:00pm, Monday to Thursday. All eligible orders placed by this cut-off time are dispatched the same day (unless resizing is necessary; in such cases, the order must be placed at least one hour in advance, or it will be sent the following business day). Orders placed after 3:00pm, or after 3:00pm on Thursday, will be dispatched on the next business day. 

While we make every effort to dispatch all eligible orders promptly, delays may occasionally occur in exceptional circumstances. Where this happens, please allow an additional 1 business day for delivery.

Our office is closed on Fridays and weekends. Any orders placed during this time will be processed on Monday (or the next business day if Monday falls on a public holiday).

If resizing is required, your order must be placed at least one hour before the 3:00pm cut-off time to allow for same-day dispatch. Orders requiring resizing placed later than this will be dispatched on the following business day.

During promotions, peak periods, or public holidays, dispatch and production times may be extended. Please refer to our Delivery or Current Offers & Promotions page for any service updates or potential delays. 

Custom-made items are dispatched within one week, as each piece is carefully handcrafted by our team. This timeframe does not include days when our office is closed. Orders placed during closure periods will be processed on the next business day.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email together with your tracking details, so you can monitor your delivery progress.

Delivery of your items

For complete peace of mind, all orders are fully insured through to delivery. As a result, we are only able to ship to the address provided at the time of purchase. Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for any third-party redirection services you may have arranged. Due to the secure nature of our products, our delivery partners do not permit parcels to be redirected to alternative addresses once dispatched.

Carat Goldsmith is not liable for inaccuracies in the shipping address supplied by the customer, nor for parcels returned by the courier due to circumstances such as the recipient no longer residing at the specific address. Once an order has been dispatched, responsibility for the security and delivery timeframe rests with the courier. Provided that the parcel has been delivered to the correct GPS location corresponding to the address supplied, Carat Goldsmith will be deemed to have fulfilled its delivery obligations.

Shipping fees are calculated based on the total value of your order:

  • Orders between £0.00 and £700.00 - £8.50 
  • Orders above £700.00 - £10.00

I missed my parcel

If you are not at home when the Royal Mail postman arrives to deliver your jewellery parcel, you have 2 options:

  1. If you want your item quickly, the best way to get it is by going to the Royal Mail Delivery Office. You will find the Delivery Office address on the card which the Royal Mail postman left you. Make sure you take the card and personal identification (such as a driving license) with you to collect.
  2. You can arrange a re-delivery using the information on the red "Something for you" card. Royal Mail will re-deliver free of charge to your home or to an alternative local address but bear in mind that a re-delivery takes up to 48 hours from the time you request it.
Does your shipping cost include insurance?

All orders are dispatched safely with tracked, insured and signed delivery. All our goods include insurance protection.

Is my jewellery safe in transit?

We are confident that your order will be safe as we use the leading, most-trusted delivery companies. For further peace of mind, your jewellery is insured in the event of loss, theft or damage, until it is signed for.

If for any reason, you wish to return your order within the returns period, it is your responsibility to insure your jewellery during transit. Unfortunately, we do not accept any responsibility for any items that are lost during transit when they are being returned.

Do you deliver internationally?

Unfortunately, we solely ship within the United Kingdom. If uncertain of delivery eligibility, enter your address at checkout. Our system will verify its compatibility with UK addresses. Shipping is limited to addresses within the UK border therefore your address may not be shown in the drop-down list of addresses.

How long does it take to dispatch jewellery?

Orders placed from Monday to Thursday by 3 PM are dispatched on the same day (unless resizing is necessary; in such cases, the order must be placed at least one hour in advance, or it will be sent the following business day). If the order is made after 3 PM, it will be dispatched the next business  day.

While we aim for prompt same-day dispatchment, please be aware that occasional delays may occur. Kindly allow an additional 1-2 business days for your order to reach you as expected.

Our office is closed on Friday and the weekend, therefore orders placed after 3pm on Thursday will be dispatched the following business day. During promotions or public holidays, shipping and production time may be extended. Please refer to our delivery page for information on any possible delays.

Our custom-made items are dispatched within 1 week as each product is specially handcrafted by us.

Is signature required upon delivery?

Since we use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, this service includes a photo and signature on delivery. Please make sure you are available to sign for your order when it is delivered, as you are solely responsible for the acceptance of your order upon delivery.

All jewellery is sent with tracking. If the tracking information says the parcel has been delivered, Carat Goldsmith is not responsible for any lost packages.

If your order is sent back to Carat Goldsmith by the shipping company for failure to deliver, you will be required to pay for the re-shipment of your order.
