Terms and Conditions for the supply of goods through the Carat Goldsmith online store (caratgoldsmith.co.uk). These Terms and Conditions shall apply to all contracts entered into by Carat Goldsmith (“Carat Goldsmith”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By placing your order with us you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. Where you do not accept these Terms and Conditions in full, you do not have permission to access the contents of this website and should cease using it immediately.
 
By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/or contributors of content.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and that you are at least 18 years old or at least have the authority or consent of your parents/guardians to do so.

If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services. If these Terms of Service are considered an offer, acceptance is expressly limited to these Terms of Service.

Any new features or tools which are added to the current store shall also be subject to the Terms of Service. You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

CONTENT & AMENDMENTS

We take care and time to try and ensure our website is as accurate as possible, both in terms of prices / weight of items displayed and description of products and services. All measurements displayed are approximate and on occasions, the weight of items may differ slightly due to the scale(s) calibration. Any errors will be wholly unintentional. 

Orders will only be accepted should there be no material errors. We take no responsibility for colours of products not matching the colour displayed on your monitor as this depends entirely on the colour reproduction and capabilities of your screen.

We may make changes to the website at any time without notice or warning, including:

  • Changes to these terms and conditions
  • Changes to promotions, offers and discounts
  • Changes to content, product information and pricing
  • Temporary or permanent withdrawal of the website

 CONTRACT

 No contract will exist between you and Carat Goldsmith for the sale of any product unless and until Carat Goldsmith has accepted your order with a confirmation email and a full payment is taken from your credit/ debit card. You must ensure that the order confirmation is accurate and inform us immediately of any errors. We are not responsible for any inaccuracies in the order placed by you. 

PAYMENT

The price payable for the goods you order or purchase is as set out on our website at the time you submit your order, plus any charges for delivery clearly displayed when checking out. Prices quoted are in UK Pounds Sterling. Carat Goldsmith's prices are also subject to change without notice. All of our prices are final and non-negotiable and all payments are made in full in order to proceed the payment.  By using a credit/debit card to pay for your order or purchase, you confirm that the card being used is yours or that you are authorised to use it.

We try to make every effort to ensure that all items are described and priced accurately. In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or a website error, we will not process your order and will instead alert you immediately to the actual price of the goods. You will then have the option to proceed at this updated price or cancel. We will only process any such order with your authority.

DELIVERY

We endeavor to dispatch all items on the same day or next day. Custom made items will be dispatched within 1 week of processing time as each product is specially handcrafted by us. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping notification email with a link to track your shipment. It is the buyers responsibility to check and track the order placed. On rare occasions processing times may take longer during public holidays, promotion and sale/eid periods. 

Orders must be received before 3pm Monday - Thursday to qualify for Next Day Delivery. If this cut off time is missed your order may not arrive until the following working day (exc Thursday). Any orders placed after the cut off time on a Thursday as well as Friday and Weekends will be dispatched on Monday for Next Day Delivery.

Once the order is shipped, the courier is responsible for delivering the item to you and we cannot control their delivery time. It is the buyers responsibility to ensure the correct address is entered on the order. Carat Goldsmith will take no responsibility if an incorrect address has been entered and the buyer does not receive the item.

The courier will only deliver to the address specified and will not leave the item with a neighbour.  If no one is at home to accept the item the courier should leave a card advising that an attempted delivery was made and provide details for re-arranging delivery for another day.  

Our delivery charges are based on the total value of your order: 

Orders between £0.00 - £700.00 - £8.50 delivery charge (Insurance included

Orders between £700 and above - £10.00 delivery charge (Insurance included)

 

REFUNDS / EXCHANGE / CANCELLATION

Although we are confident that you'll love your new jewellery as all our pieces are thoroughly inspected for faults before dispatching every order, however if you would like to request a return then you have a 7 days returns policy from the date you have received your item

Unfortunately we're not able to accept returns to custom-made jewellery or items which have been resized according to your preference. Carat Goldsmith are not held responsible to items that have been damaged due to neglect, misuse or accidental damage and are unable to provide a return. We reserve the right to decline a refund of any reason.

All returns must be returned within 7 days of the received date. If you would like to arrange a return or a refund, Please complete our online returns request by contacting us via the site stating the reason for the return and the order number.

Returns are only accepted once the above process has been completed. All returned items must be sent back to us unused, in the same condition received and in its original packaging. Items sent back to us without completing the online contact form or if we find that the item has been worn will be refused and will be returned back. 

Returns postage is at the cost of the customer. It is advised you send back the item via 'next day guaranteed delivery by 1pm'. Carat Goldsmith is not liable for any items lost by the mail carrier and it is the customer's responsibility to gain insurance when returning the items.

Once we have received your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item and the status of your refund. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund of the cost of the items to your credit card (original method of payment) and you will receive the credit within 14 days, depending on your card issuer's policies. Please note when issuing a refund, a minimum of £10 will be deducted from the total cost of your order. The deduction includes postage and insurance. There are certain situations where we can only give you a partial refund.

All purchases are not eligible for a exchange. Once your order has been submitted, we are unable to cancel any orders. 

Incorrect order / Faulty Item

On rare occasions there may be exceptions. Should an order be incorrectly fulfilled or an item arrived damaged, Carat Goldsmith will take responsibility in refunding the cost of the jewellery upon the return of the incorrect or damaged piece. 

Return requests of this type must also be made within 7 days from the date receivedPlease complete our online returns request by contacting us via the site stating the reason for the return, the order number and high-quality photographs of the problem where possible.

Exceptions / non-returnable items

Certain types of items will not be returned, like earrings due to hygienic purposes or items at the time of sale or on offer.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund if the returns policy and procedures have not been followed. By purchasing from www.caratgoldsmith.co.uk you accept and agree to these terms and services.  

RESIZING

Most of the jewellery on our item can be resized but in some cases the designs or the stone from the item does not allow us to do so. Please contact us via our online enquiry form before requesting us to resize an item. Once a confirmation is made by us, please state the alteration in the 'order special instructions' textbox shown at the checkout.

If an order has been placed and the buyer would like to make an adjustment, it is the buyers responsibility to contact us prior to placing the order. Any orders placed when stating to resize the item on the order form without confirmation will not be adjusted and will be sent to the buyer in it's original size. 

When shortening an item, the removed gold piece will be returned back to the buyer along with the item. If you would like to make an item bigger then we will provide a quotation to reflect additional gold added

When resizing, it can result in a slight imperfection especially in the design of the item. We are not responsible of any damages caused after the item has been resized and nor is it eligible for a refund. 

It is the customers responsibility to check if the item is the correct size before placing the order. If you would like to resize an item after you have received it, then a resizing fee will be quoted and it is at the cost of the buyer to pay for the postage when returning the item to us.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect basic personal information about our customers when an order is placed. This information is securely stored and is necessary to carry out delivery and to contact you as a customer if a problem should arise, or for important news such as new product launches. We will never disclose any such information to third parties.

RECEIPT OF PAYMENT

We must receive payment in full for your order before it can be accepted. Once your credit card has been authorised and stock is checked we will send you an email receipt confirming your order. Please keep this receipt for your records. We reserve the right to refuse to supply to any person for whatever reason. We will not ship any order until full payment has been received.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms and conditions and every transaction will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These terms and conditions set out the entire agreement between you and Carat Goldsmith in respect of the sale, purchase and use of our goods. They replace any previous agreement or understanding in relation to the subject matter hereof. If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us
