Terms and Conditions for the supply of goods through the Carat Goldsmith online store (caratgoldsmith.co.uk). These Terms and Conditions shall apply to all contracts entered into by Carat Goldsmith (“Carat Goldsmith”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By placing your order with us you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions. Where you do not accept these Terms and Conditions in full, you do not have permission to access the contents of this website and should cease using it immediately.
 
By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/or contributors of content.


Please read these Terms of Service carefully before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and that you are at least 18 years old or at least have the authority or consent of your parents/guardians to do so.

If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services. If these Terms of Service are considered an offer, acceptance is expressly limited to these Terms of Service.

Any new features or tools which are added to the current store shall also be subject to the Terms of Service. You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

CONTENT & AMENDMENTS

We take care and time to try and ensure our website is as accurate as possible, both in terms of prices / weight of items displayed and description of products and services. All measurements displayed are approximate and on occasions, the weight of items may differ slightly due to the scale(s) calibration. Any errors will be wholly unintentional. 

Orders will only be accepted should there be no material errors. We take no responsibility for colours of products not matching the colour displayed on your monitor as this depends entirely on the colour reproduction and capabilities of your screen.

We may make changes to the website at any time without notice or warning, including:

  • Changes to these terms and conditions
  • Changes to promotions, offers and discounts
  • Changes to content, product information and pricing
  • Temporary or permanent withdrawal of the website

 CONTRACT

 No contract will exist between you and Carat Goldsmith for the sale of any product unless and until Carat Goldsmith has accepted your order with a confirmation email and a full payment is taken from your credit/ debit card. You must ensure that the order confirmation is accurate and inform us immediately of any errors. We are not responsible for any inaccuracies in the order placed by you. 

PAYMENT

The price payable for the goods you order or purchase is as set out on our website at the time you submit your order, plus any charges for delivery clearly displayed when checking out. Prices quoted are in UK Pounds Sterling. Carat Goldsmith's prices are also subject to change without notice. All of our prices are final and non-negotiable and all payments are made in full in order to proceed the payment.  By using a credit/debit card to pay for your order or purchase, you confirm that the card being used is yours or that you are authorised to use it.

We try to make every effort to ensure that all items are described and priced accurately. In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or a website error, we will not process your order and will instead alert you immediately to the actual price of the goods. You will then have the option to proceed at this updated price or cancel. We will only process any such order with your authority.

DELIVERY

Customers will be kept informed throughout by receipt of a shipping confirmation email after purchase. Once your order is dispatched, we will provide you with a tracking number, so you know your order is on its way. For total peace-of-mind, we offer full insurance to your doorstep and for this reason, we can only deliver to the shipping address on your order. Please note we are not liable for any redirection service you might have in place.

Orders placed between Monday to Thursday before 3pm are dispatched on the same day (unless resizing is required, order should be placed at least an hour in advance or it will be shipped the next working day). If the order is placed after 3 pm, it will be dispatched the next working day. Our office is closed on Friday and the weekend, therefore orders placed after 3pm on Thursday will be dispatched the following working day.

Our custom-made items are dispatched within 1 week as each product is specially handcrafted by us. If you have placed a custom order when our office is closed then it will not be handled until the following working day.

In connection with public holidays, longer delivery times must be expected. Should delays occur at our delivery supplier, however, Carat Goldsmith cannot be held responsible.

When placing your order, it is important that you enter your address information correctly. Carat Goldsmith cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses input by customers. Once the item has been dispatched, we are not responsible for the security of said package thereafter. Providing the item has been delivered to the correct GPS location of the building in the address provided, Carat Goldsmith have fulfilled their duty to deliver the package. 

Our shipping costs are based on the total value of your order: 

Orders between £0.00 - £700.00 - £8.50 delivery charge (Insurance included

Orders between £700 and above - £10.00 delivery charge (Insurance included)

 

RETURNS

We pride ourselves in offering some of the best jewellery you can find and ultimately want you to love your purchase. However, in the unlikely event you are unhappy with your purchase we will give you a full refund (exclusive of shipping charges), the following returns policy applies:

Eligibility for Return:

  • Return Period: 7 days from the delivery date.
  • Condition: Items must be in original, unworn condition.
  • Packaging: All original packaging and invoice of purchase must be included.
  • Modifications: The product must not have been resized by us or any third party.
  • Seasonal promotion: Items should not be purchased during a sale or promotional offer. Products falling under this category are non-refundable.

Made to order, bespoke pieces or engraved items are excluded from our returns policy unless agreed in writing by us. For hygiene reasons, earrings (and other pierced jewellery) cannot be returned. 

Our promise to refund your money does not apply to faults, or damages caused by accident, neglect or misuse. 

    Returning your order to us

    If your purchase meets the above criteria, you must notify us by filling the contact form and stating your name, order number and the reasons for returning. Returns are only accepted once the above process has been completed.

    The buyer is responsible for the cost of returning the product. We strongly recommend sending items back using 'Royal Mail' 'Special Guaranteed Delivery By 1pm' and with adequate insurance so that you are covered for any loss. Carat Goldsmith are not liable for the item if it gets lost or damaged on route back to us.

    Once we receive your package, we will take up to 2 to 4 business days to process your return request. All returns will be inspected by our Quality Assurance team and there may be additional charges based on your return instructions. We will notify you of any such charges before processing your request. 

    If your returns in approved, we will initiate a refund, excluding delivery charges, to your original payment method. It may typically take up to 7 working days for the amount to appear in your account but this varies depending on your card issuer's policies. If you would like further clarification on the timescales involved, please contact your card issuer.

    In rare cases, there may be exceptions. If an order is incorrectly fulfilled or an item arrives damaged (without your fault), we provide repair or a full refund for the cost of the jewellery. Please complete our online returns request by contacting us via the site stating the reason for the return, the order number and high-quality photographs of the problem where possible. Each jewellery piece undergoes examination by specialists and is photographed prior to dispatch for quality assurance.

    Exchanges / Cancellation

    Each purchase is final and cannot be exchanged. Once your order is placed, it cannot be cancelled.

    We reserve the right to refuse a refund if the returns policy and procedures have not been followed. By purchasing from www.caratgoldsmith.co.uk you accept and agree to these terms and services.  

    RESIZING

    If you love your item (as much as we do!) but it doesn’t fit you – we provide complimentary resizing or adjustments upon purchase. To request an alteration for a desired purchase, kindly contact us here before placing your order with the product code and desired measurements. This will allow us to determine if the item can be tailored to your specifications, as our exquisite jewelry pieces can often be customized.

    Once a confirmation is made by us, please state the alteration in the 'add order notes' shown at the checkout.

    There may be costs involved (i.e. if you need to extend the length of an item as it will require us to use more gold / materials). This is looked at on a case by case basis and we will happily talk you through every step.

    When shortening an item, the gold piece that is removed will be returned to the buyer along with the item.

    When resizing, it may lead to a slight imperfection, particularly in the design of the item. We do not take responsibility for any damages incurred post-resizing, and refunds are not applicable.

    The customer is responsible for checking the item's size before ordering. Resizing after receipt incurs a fee, with buyer covering postage for returns and reshipment of the item.

    PERSONAL INFORMATION

    We collect basic personal information about our customers when an order is placed. This information is securely stored and is necessary to carry out delivery and to contact you as a customer if a problem should arise, or for important news such as new product launches. We will never disclose any such information to third parties.

    RECEIPT OF PAYMENT

    We must receive payment in full for your order before it can be accepted. Once your credit card has been authorised and stock is checked we will send you an email receipt confirming your order. Please keep this receipt for your records. We reserve the right to refuse to supply to any person for whatever reason. We will not ship any order until full payment has been received.

    GOVERNING LAW

    These terms and conditions and every transaction will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of United Kingdom.

    ENTIRE AGREEMENT

    These terms and conditions set out the entire agreement between you and Carat Goldsmith in respect of the sale, purchase and use of our goods.
